Plumbago – Looks Like Blue Phlox – Floral Art Prints by Christopher Johnson

Plumbago

It was late afternoon and It felt like it was going to rain, but it didn’t quite even sprinkle. I was walking in the park and saw these flowers cascading over a housing complex wall to the park. It took some work getting these right due to the afternoon sun and the shadow caused by the plants.

These plumbago flower photos (they look like a blue phlox) photos are available as high quality prints with optional custom frames and mats at Imagekind. I’m also including them at Zazzle as photo art gifts in my Living Nature Photo Art Gifts collection for those who prefer to use art on shirts, bags, greeting cards, and more.

Plumbago looks like phlox, but it is blue. I didn't know if it was phlox or not and after looking I couldn't find anything else, so I was surprised to see another artist updating her blog mentioning plumbago and there were my "blue phlox" flowers that no one else could identify!

These Irises are fending for themselves growing by a major avenue near where I live. They are surrounded by other flowers that have also been abandoned. The city will often do this in areas that are not considered touristic. These photos were taken on the 5th of December, 2007.
